Andretti Eighth in A1GP Free Practice at Chengdu

Chengdu, China - Marco Andretti turned a best-lap speed of 1:17.183 seconds in the free practice posting the eighth quickest time. Andretti was sixth in the rookie practice with a best-lap speed of 1:17.528 for Andretti Green's A1GP entry. Qualifying for the second race on the A1GP schedule takes place Saturday, Nov. 8 beginning at 1:15 a.m. EST and can be seen on A1GP TV at www.a1gp.com.

"Today was not a bad start. There are still some kinks we need to work out. We hit the ground running. Some things happened in the middle of the day that we will look at and work through tomorrow. I think we were there until we made some setup errors in the middle of the day. We kind of lost our way a little bit, which caused some of the fast guys to increase their gap on us. Hopefully we can capitalize on our mistakes tomorrow and get back to where the car was good, and go from there."
