Robbie Kerr and A1 Team Great Britain secured another second position in today's Sprint Race at the Sentul Circuit in Indonesia, yet unfortunate timing saw A1 Team Great Britain lose out on a highly likely victory in the following Feature Race.

A1 Team Great Britain's Robbie Kerr put in a time of 24.10.341 in the Sprint Race, coming second to the season's podium veteran Nicolas Lapierre of A1 Team France After a highly successful performance in qualifying sessions and the Sprint, Kerr had the speed and the agility to translate the success within the Feature Race.

However A1 Team Great Britain's brave performance in leading the majority of the Feature Race this afternoon was ultimately unrewarded with A1 Team Great Britain's Robbie Kerr finishing the Feature Race in 10th position. Numerous safety car deployments interrupted A1 Team Great Britain's pit strategy, but it was the first of these deployments, at the very end of the third lap which ultimately changed the complexion of the race.

Whilst other A1 Teams were afforded the opportunity to pit, the call came too late for Robbie to take advantage of the safety car lap. Kerr ascertains that "the safety car cost us. We were comfortably in the lead, but we just got it wrong with the safety cars. Obviously it is extremely disappointing, having been at the front all weekend, but I am happy with my performance, and it is just one of those things."

As the conclusion of the race drew nearer, A1 Team Great Britain looked to the skies in the hope that rain would amend the safety car disruption. Robbie would have been able to change to wets at his compulsory pit stop and regain the lead. Kerr concludes; "if it had rained, we would have been laughing."

Sean McIntosh of A1 Team Canada went on to secure the number one spot in the Indonesian Feature Race, marking his first appearance at the top of an A1 podium.

Team Principal John Surtees concludes that "it was a great shame that the British team did not capitalise on Robbie's sterling performance in the qualifying sessions and the sprint race, and that the strategy which they followed from the pit side did not work out."

Despite Great Britain's disappointment in the Feature Race, Kerr has continued to narrow the margin between A1 Team Great Britain and A1 Team Brazil, having secured 10 series points over the course of the weekend. Therefore A1 Team Great Britain now lie fourth, just two points behind A1 Team Brazil in the overall series standings.

A1 Team Great Britain must now look to Monterrey and Laguna Seca. Robbie affirms "We can always say 'what if' but our focus is continually changing. We must harness the improvements we made to the car and to our driving." Mexico will host the next A1 Grand Prix of Nations in two weeks time, and will provide further opportunities for A1 Team Great Britain and Robbie Kerr to campaign for series points and podium positions.
