JARVIS ON THE PACE AS A1 TEAM GBR COMPLETE SILVERSTONE TEST
Robbie Kerr and Oliver Jarvis completed A1 Team Great Britain's testing programme in ideal conditions at Silverstone circuit today. Jarvis had set the third best time yesterday and Kerr posted a best lap of 1:10.252 in this morning's session, which would prove to be the second quickest lap of the day. Jarvis took over the driving for the afternoon and emerged with a 1:10.708; the fastest time of the session.
The team once again enjoyed a trouble free day's running, completing 79 laps working on set-ups in preparation for round 1 of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport at Zandvoort Park, the Netherlands on September 30th . Before the season commences the team will have one more opportunity to run at Silverstone on the 18th and 19th of September. The pace shown over the last two days confirms Team GBR's position as a leading contender for the title for the third year running with both Jarvis and Kerr tipped to repeat the race winning performances that marked last season.
Robbie Kerr: "Testing this morning went well -- the car was good from yesterday but we tried a couple of other changes which seemed to improve the car further. Once the new set of tyres were put on, I was really pleased with the time we got, but unfortunately as I only had one new set (of tyres) I didn't get the most out of them and there was certainly more time to gain. We definitely made decent progress and I'm looking forward to getting back into the car at Brno"
Oliver Jarvis: "The afternoons' testing has been positive. We had good pace on both old and new tyres but unfortunately we didn't quite get the perfect flying lap. We decided to end the session early to give them team time on the car. But all in all, a positive day working together with the engineer and team and we're leaving here very happy. I'm looking forward to the first race at Zandvoort"
