A1 Team Malaysia roared out of the garage at the Donington Circuit, UK today, with Fairuz Fauzy in the cockpit of the new A1GP 'Powered by Ferrari' car. The car turned its wheels for the first time and completed a number of engine installation laps, in preparation for the new season of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.
"It's a great car", said Fauzy after his first run. "It ran smoothly and my first impressions are good. Now we've completed all the necessary installation and routine tasks, we can start to work on developing the initial set up and understand the handling of the car. It's a very exciting car to drive and I'm looking forward to having more time behind the wheel as we prepare for the season ahead."
The Malaysian team posted the quickest lap time of the four cars that shook down their cars today, although with wet weather conditions none of the teams were pushing hard. The team continues its pre-season test programme on Thursday 11 September.
