A1 TEAM USA will be powered by Ferrari in 2008-09

Starting with the 2008-09 season, A1 TEAM USA will be powered by Ferrari and use chassis designed by Ferrari in A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.

"All of us at A1 TEAM USA and A1GP are thrilled to be associated with Ferrari, the most famous motor racing organization in the world and builder of exquisite road cars," A1 TEAM USA owner Rick Weidinger of Washington, D.C., said. "We are proud to welcome the Prancing Horse to our team and A1GP.

"A1GP has a six-year agreement with Ferrari which includes an exclusive licensing agreement for merchandise. Ferrari will also consult with the constructor selected to build the new chassis. The decision to bring in new cars and engines and the length of our deal with Ferrari shows the commitment A1GP has to the future of the World Cup of Motorsport."

A1GP is in its third season, which continues Friday with the second round at Brno, Czech Republic. The series mandates the use of a single chassis and engine.
