While you may not be able to join the winners on the podium at the Race of a Thousand Years on New Year's Eve, race fans will get a unique opportunity to welcome the international stars today.

The newest founding sponsor to join Le Mans Adelaide, Jacob's Creek wines, has joined forces with the event official charity, the Hanson Centre for Cancer Research.

By donating a gold coin for cancer research, race fans will today have the opportunity to sign a welcome message on one of the three litre Jeroboam bottles of Jacob's Creek Chardonnay Pinot Noir which will be sprayed at the presentation ceremony at the conclusion of the six-hour Le Mans Series grand finale on the streets of Adelaide.

With two drivers in each car, three teams on the podium and three classes in the event - a total of 18 bottles will be sprayed with delight at the conclusion of the race.

The people of Adelaide will be able to make their mark on the bottles outside of the Hilton International in Victoria Square from 12.00noon to 2.00pm.

"We will have drivers at the event from right across the world and this will give the people of Adelaide a chance to write their personal greeting to the international stars," Jacob's Creek's Nick Blair said.

"It is also a great way to help raise funds for the Hanson Centre. They do a fantastic job in cancer research and we are delighted to have this opportunity to help."

The signing will be staged in conjunction with a major Hanson Centre and Le Mans Adelaide fundraising luncheon to be staged at the Hilton International today.

Jacob's Creek joins forces with Coopers Brewery, Qantas and The Advertiser as founding sponsors of the inaugural Le Mans Series event.
