All Audi front row at Nurburgring

Nurburgring, Germany, The Audi R8's once again complete the front row in qualifying for the ALMS Bitburger/AVD 1000 km at the Nurburgring.

Rinaldo Capello driving the number 77 Audi put the car on the pole with a time of 1:27.938. The session was briefly stopped while a Panoz was removed from the gravel trap allowing for a 20-minute intermission. "After the session continued I was able to get a clear lap with few mistakes. The car was very good after morning practice and I think we will be strong in the race, but 1000 kilometers is a long distance."

Frank Biela driving the number 78 R8 completed the session in second with a time of 1:28.540. "Two Audi's on the front is good for tomorrow. It is a six hour sprint race, any little problem will can cost you a victory."

"This was another great effort by the team. It is nice to see that the new R8 is competitive on a little tighter track, that is encouraging as the series is about ready to head back to the states," said Len Hunt, head of Audi Sport North America.
