DTM/LEMANS:
Ekström and Kristensen win Nations Cup

The two Audi works drivers Mattias Ekström and Tom Kristensen yet again demonstrated their exceptional skills by winning the "Nations Cup" at the "Race of Champions" in Paris in front of more than 50,000 spectators. On their way to the final, the Audi drivers, who competed as "Team Scandinavia", defeated the Benelux Team, Finland and the USA without losing a single race. Even in the final against the French team, which consisted of ChampCar Champion Sébastien Bourdais and Dakar winner Stéphane Peterhansel, the Scandinavian duo Ekström and Kristensen remained undefeated.

In the "Race of Champions" that followed, Kristensen emerged as top racing driver. On his way he beat Formula 1 driver David Coulthard, rising star Nelson Piquet jr and the four-time NASCAR Champion Jeff Gordon. In the finale the Audi pilot narrowly beat last year's winner Heikki Kovalainen. Kristensen was only beaten in the "Super-Final", in which the best racing drivers competed against the best rally drivers, by current World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb. Mattias Ekström was unlucky: The Swede was knocked out in the 1/8-final of the competition by Nelson Piquet jr.
