BMW Team PTG will start Sunday's race from fifth, seventh and eighth on the GT grid. Boris Said was quickest of the team, qualifying fifth in the #7 BMW M3, which he drives with Hans Stuck, in one minute 19.254 seconds. Peter Cunningham qualified the #6 M3 seventh in 1:19.688. He'll drive with Johannes van Overbeek. And Brian Cunningham, co-driving with Nic Jonsson, was eighth in the #7 M3 (1:19.802).

Peter Cunningham, driver, #6 BMW M3
"Our car is really good; the balance is great so we had a real solid lap. We'll see what happens tomorrow. It's going to be a good race, I think."

Boris Said, driver, #7 BMW M3
"The car I'm driving was so perfect, but I got traffic on both laps. I could complain about that but it's probably only a half-second, and would have made only one place difference. We'll work on the horsepower over the winter and those Porsches will be in the back!"

Nic Jonsson, driver, #10 BMW M3
"The PTG team put together the best car we've had all weekend, which is right when you want it -- during qualifying. I made a few mistakes trying to get through traffic, but we've gained a lot of time and we're a lot closer to the other cars than we've been all weekend. A three-hour race is too long to worry about a few tenths [of a second] in qualifying."

Tom Salkowsky, motorsport manager, BMW of North America, Inc.
"The team has worked very hard to get the balance right, the tires right and the setup for the cars right. As Hans Stuck said, it's the smartest drivers, not necessarily the fastest, who are going to win a race. Hopefully, that will be true again here at Las Vegas. For a fast track like this, for us to be within a second and a half of the fastest car isn't bad. We know where we qualified, but what counts is where we finish in the race."

BMW Team PTG scored its first victory of the weekend when the team's home brew, Check Your Splitter Bitter, was judged best of the series by a panel of brewmasters. The ALMS teams were invited to compete in the brewing contest initiated by Adelaide race sponsor Coopers beer.
