INDIANAPOLIS (September 30, 2013) - Muscle Milk Pickett Racing is ready to take on the Oak Tree Grand Prix at VIR this weekend, hot off their seventh consecutive American Le Mans Series victory this season.

The team will be looking to repeat last year's exploits at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). Led by drivers Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr, they qualified on pole, won by three laps and set qualifying (1:35.434 by Graf) and race (1:36.112 by Luhr) track records along the way.

From their first laps around the 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course, both Muscle Milk drivers immediately loved the VIR track layout with its high-speed corners and the famous oak tree turn, which unfortunately has lost its namesake this year.

Once again, the German duo of Graf and Luhr is hoping to leave VIR with happy memories as they are vying for their eighth consecutive overall victory and looking to add to their win totals. At the last round in Austin, Texas, Luhr picked up his 48th career ALMS victory and Graf his 21st. The win was also the 20th victory for Pickett Racing in the ALMS in only 44 starts.

The Muscle Milk squad will be sitting out the Thursday Promoter Test session and will take to the track on Friday, October 4 for the official practice sessions and qualifying.

Muscle Milk Quotes:

Klaus Graf - driver #6 Muscle Milk HPD ARX-03c
"Last year, we had our inaugural event at VIR and I immediately loved the track. The layout is just beautiful with some very high-speed corners. "A special corner is certainly the oak tree turn which I understand will be a little different this year with the oak tree, sadly, no longer there. That part of the track will, unfortunately, have lost a little of its 'special flavor'. "We had a very good set up at VIR last season with our Muscle Milk HPD ARX-03a and with our updates in aero configuration on the HPD ARX-03c we should be able to go even faster this year. "Even if we have already wrapped up the Championship, we still treat every race the same, as we want to make sure we stay focused until the end of the year. "Lucas and I want to continue our winning streak and hopefully keep it alive until the ALMS comes to an end."

Lucas Luhr - driver #6 Muscle Milk HPD ARX-03c
"It will certainly be a little strange driving around VIR with no more oak tree. It was such an iconic part of the track that it's hard to imagine it without it. "The VIR circuit is a very 'old school' type track and I like it a lot. It's a fun place to drive at and I hope we can be as successful as we were last year. "We have two more races left this year and our goal is to win both and hopefully get me to 50 wins in my ALMS career. It would be very special to me but we first need to get another victory this weekend! For that reason, and even if we've already won the Championship, we still need to be focused for the rest of the season."
