AMERICAN LE MANS SERIES, ROAD AMERICA ANNOUNCE THREE-YEAR EXTENSION

Elkhart Lake, Wis. - The American Le Mans Series and IMSA added to Road America's 50th anniversary celebration year by signing a three-year extension through 2008 to race at the historic track. The ALMS, in its seventh season, first raced at Road America in 2002, establishing it as one of the marquee events at the 14-turn circuit.

"Road America is without question one of the finest road courses in the world," said Scott Atherton, President and CEO of the American Le Mans Series. "Our drivers, manufacturers, sponsors and teams love racing here. The fans are knowledgeable and really appreciate what the ALMS represents. And George Bruggenthies and his staff make it possible year-in and year- out to for all of us to enjoy an environment where we can showcase our series at its highest level."

Bruggenthies focused on what the ALMS means to the track's race market, which includes the greater Chicago/Milwaukee markets.

"The American Le Mans Series represents the highest level of sports car racing in North America," he said. "This is the fastest growing series in the country, and we want to be part of its continued growth and play a role in that. Our fans love the drivers, the sophisticated sports cars and technology that this series delivers."

Although dates have not been announced for the 2006 season, Tim Mayer, COO of IMSA, indicated that Road America's slot on the ALMS schedule would not be altered significantly.

"This is a great time of year to race here," said Mayer. "Road America has a great tradition, and the fans have come to recognize the ALMS as one of the most exciting circuits that races here each season."

"The fans are why we are here," added Atherton. "One of the hallmarks of our series is all the fan-friendly elements we provide such as the Open Grid, Tech Talks, Driver Autograph Sessions, and Fan Forums. Obviously, we have been well-received here since attendance has grown impressively at Road America every year."

Road America, one of the world's finest and fastest road courses, celebrates its 50th Anniversary year in 2005. The track is steeped in tradition with many of the sport's greatest drivers having competed at the unique four-mile layout, including 18 Indianapolis 500 winners and at least seven world champions: Phil Hill, John Surtees, Dennis Hulme, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nigel Mansell, Jackie Stewart and Jacques Villeneuve. Through the years, it has hosted some of the finest road racing in the world, including Trans-Am, Can-am, Formula 5000, AMA, Champ Car and the American Le Mans Series, providing fans the opportunity to witness the best of marques such as Ferrari, McLaren, Chaparral, Jaguar, Porsche, Corvette and Audi.
