Fassler fastest for Audi in second Sebring practice

Bruni winds it up late to go fastest in GT for Risi

SEBRING, Fla. (March 14, 2013) – Marcel Fassler kept Audi Sport on top in the early going at Sebring International Raceway with the fastest time in the day’s second practice session for the 61st Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. Fassler, two-time and defending winner at the Le Mans 24 Hours for Audi, set a best time of 1:45.806 (127.252 mph) in the No. 1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro he co-drives with Benoit Treluyer and Oliver Jarvis.

The best lap of Fassler came on his 30th and final lap. He was nearly two seconds clear of Andrea Belicchi in Rebellion Racing’s No. 13 Lola-Toyota.

Gianmaria Bruni went quickest in GT for Risi Competizione. Like Fassler, Bruni’s best lap was his last with a 2:00.464 (111.768 mph) in the No. 62 Ferrari F458 Italia. The Italian lowered his time on each of his last three laps around Sebring. The top five in class were within 0.973 seconds with Aston Martin Racing’s Darren Turner second at 2:01.069 in the No. 97 Aston Martin Vantage V8.

Ryan Briscoe set the best P2 time on his next-to-last lap in Level 5 Motorsports’ No. 551 HPD ARX-03b prototype. His time of 1:53.291 was 0.763 seconds quicker than teammate Simon Pagenaud in the No. 552 entry.

In Prototype Challenge presented by Continental Tire, Mark Wilkins had the fastest lap of 1:56.339 aboard CORE autosport’s No. 05 ORECA FLM09. He was a slim 0.021 seconds clear of BAR1 Motorsports’ Kyle Marcelli in the No. 8 entry.

Alex Job Racing’s Jeroen Bleekemolen was quickest in GT Challenge with a 2:05.887 in the No. 22 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Sean Edwards was second for NGT Motorsports at 2:06.324.
