Wallace to Drive for Highcroft Racing in Five ALMS Races

DANBURY, Conn., April 25 -- Duncan Dayton, owner/driver of Highcroft Racing, is pleased to announce that veteran Andy Wallace will be his co-driver in five upcoming American Le Mans Series (ALMS) races.

Wallace will drive for the Danbury, Conn.-based team at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. June 29-July 1; Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City, Utah July 13-15; Portland International Raceway in Portland, Ore. July 20-22; Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. Aug. 17-20 and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. Oct. 19-21. He and Dayton will share Highcroft's Lola EX257 AER, No. 9, which competes in the series' top class, LMP1.

Wallace will also continue to drive in other ALMS events for Dyson Racing, the team that owned and campaigned this particular car before Highcroft Racing purchased it in December. Wallace helped set the car up prior to its first race of the year, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in Sebring, Fla., in March.

Wallace, 45, of Buckingham, England, is one of just a handful of active drivers who have won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Twelve Hours of Sebring, the Petit Le Mans and the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.

"We're thrilled for the opportunity to work with a driver of Andy Wallace's caliber and experience, and we hope his participation will help jump-start Highcroft's efforts as we build for 2007," Dayton said.

"We worked with him in pre-season testing, and he was a treat to work with," Dayton continued. "He's a gentleman, and he brings a great knowledge of set-ups that we hope will accelerate our learning curve with the Lola. His experience on Michelins should also be helpful to us as we help to develop our Dunlop tires. I want to thank Rob [Dyson, that team's owner] for making him available to us for these five events."

"First, I want to say what a wonderful team Highcroft Racing is," Wallace said. "Everybody who saw the presentation they made at Sebring was impressed. The standard of preparation of the car and everything in the pits and the paddock was first rate. Duncan and his staff do everything first class.

"It's a beautiful car and it's really nice to drive. I know the number was different but it's effectively my car from last year, so it will be nice to drive it again," he added.

"I've raced against Duncan many times, and I'm looking forward to racing as his teammate," Wallace continued. "He has always impressed me because he's very fair on the track and a real professional player in every way, plus he's really, really fast too. I'm thrilled to get the chance to race with him now, instead of against him, and I thank him for the opportunity."
