J3 Racing announces Driver Lineup For The American Le Mans Series in 2004
Buford, Georgia (February 17, 2004) - J3 Racing, based in Buford, Georgia, is pleased to announce British FIA GT Championship driver Tim Sugden as co- driver with Justin Jackson for the 2004 ALMS season. The J3 Racing team will debut its new, 2004 Porsche 911 GT3RSR at the upcoming Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway on Saturday, March 13, 2004.
Tim Sugden comes to J3 Racing with impressive racing credentials that include participation in the FIA GT Championship from 1997 through 2003 including a British GT Championship in 1997. Tim has also competed in the 24 Hours of LeMans, finishing 4th overall in 1998.
The J3 Racing team recently moved into its new state-of-the-art racing facility close to Road Atlanta in Buford, Georgia and has begun testing the new car in preparations for the upcoming season. As previously announced, J3 Racing will also campaign a second Porsche 911 GT3RS for as yet-to-be- determined drivers. That second car will be the same car that the team campaigned in 2003 in the GT Class.
"We are very excited about Tim joining J3 Racing for the entire 2004 season," said Jaye Jackson, owner of J3 Racing. Added Jaye, "We have had several very talented drivers' contact us about the 2004 season but we felt that Tim with all of his experience would be a great partner for Justin to compete for the GT Championship this year."
About J3 Racing: J3 Racing, based in Buford, Georgia, is a family owned and operated racing organization. Team owner, Jaye Jackson, along with his two sons operate the business on a daily basis in a 11,000 square foot racing facility located about 10 miles Southwest of Road Atlanta.
The J3 Racing facility also serves as a Porsche race-car repair and maintenance facility for many Porsche racers within North America in various classes. J3 Racing's goals are to win the 2004 GT Class Championship in the American LeMans Series and they have hired some of the best Porsche racing mechanics to assist them in their endeavors.
