LUIS DIAZ NAMED MOST POPULAR DRIVER IN THE AMERICAN LE MANS SERIES FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW

Mexico City, Mexico - October 14, 2010 - Luis Diaz was chosen as the most popular driver for the second year in a row in the American Le Mans Series Presented by Tequila Patron. The Mexico City native won the recognition by beating fellow drivers on an online poll for fans in which more than 15,000 votes were submitted. Diaz also took the award in 2009, same year that he was crowned as the LMP2 Champion.

Diaz and teammate Ricardo Gonzalez began the 2010 season in the GTC category driving Alex Job Racing's #80 car and in their debut achieved a podium finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Halfway through the season the Mexican duo decided to switch to the LMPC category where they would be able to drive PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports'#52 Oreca prototype which much more closely resembles the types of cars that they have driven throughout their careers. Diaz solidified his position as the quickest driver in LMPC after only one practice session in the car, and then continued to impress by taking three pole positions and two fastest race laps in only four starts. The teammates also achieved podium finishes in three occasions.

Diaz and Gonzalez will now spend the off season preparing physically and finalizing their plans as they go into the 2011 season as the championship favorites.

Luis Diaz
"This recognition is not mine, it really belongs to all the motorsports fans out there that have followed us, I am very grateful and I've received this award as their representative. At the end of the day everything we do is for the fans, if it wasn't for them none of us would be here. The American Le Mans Series has done a great job, anybody who went to the Petit Le Mans got to see the huge amount of people that showed up and how dedicated they are. There's no other series in the world that is as fan friendly and that just makes this award that much more meaningful to me.

Overall it was a very good year for us. The first half of the season was difficult since neither of us had any experience driving GTC cars, but we learned a lot and it was an experienced that definitely improved us as drivers. After we switched over to prototypes we definitely felt more at home and we were able to show our speed right away. It's a shame that we didn't get a victory this year but what really matters is that we showed everybody that we are the strongest package out there, now we just have to focus on next year and we will do everything possible to give all our fans a championship.
