VICI BACK ON TRACK AT MID-OHIO

The next step in the development program for VICI Racing starts this weekend with the team's return to the American Le Mans Series at Mid-Ohio. The Acura Sports Car Challenge marks VICI's first race since the Utah Grand Prix in May with brothers Nicky and Francesco Pastorelli behind the wheel of the Kumho-shod Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

When Series fans last saw the Pastorellis, they finished ninth in class at Miller Motorsports Park with a mechanical retirement.

"We're looking forward to getting back into race action this week," said team owner Ron Meixner. "The two months since Utah have really flown by and the team has been flat out during that period. We have made big strides in all areas, from technical to infrastructure, as we build a team locked into chasing success in the American Le Mans Series."

Like their fellow Porsche counterparts last week at Lime Rock Park, VICI's No. 18 car boasts a new four-liter flat-six engine. The displacement is up nearly 200 cubic centimeters, and Nicky Pastorelli could tell a difference in Thursday's session.

"It was quite hot out there and the track is technical but easy to learn," said the Dutchman, whose best time was a 1:25.160 (95.453 mph). "It was busy with lots of cars out there so traffic is going to be a feature of the race. We seem have plenty of power and the new engine is very driveable. Getting into the program at Utah was great; we had a solid weekend with the new car and everything started to gel very quickly."
