Muscle Milk CytoSport Wins The Mobil 1 Presents The Grand Prix Of Mosport

The final day the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport saw a heavy accident on the Mario Andretti straight cause severe damage to the Armco safety barrier bringing out a red flag. The lengthy stoppage essentially brought an early end to the American Le Mans Series race after it was determined that the safety barrier was irreparably damaged.

The pole setting Muscle Milk CytoSport Porsche RS Spyder piloted by Germany's Klaus Graf and Romain Dumas of France held off the Patron Highcroft Racing duo of David Brabham and Simon Pagenaud who still hold the lead in the LMP championship heading into the final round of the season. Sunday's race was Brabham's 100th career start in the American Le Mans Series, only the second driver to reach the feat.

The Autocon Motorsports pairing of Toronto native Tony Burgess and new teammate Johnny Mowlem of England finished third in class and overall.

Green Earth Team Gunnar took the top step on the podium in the LMP Challenge class. The Flying Lizards Porsche duo of Patrick Long and Joerg Bergmeister finished first in the GT class and American's Shane Lewis and Lawson Aschenbach won the GT Challenge.

Taking the Michelin Green X Challenge awards, given to the team that goes the farthest and fastest with the least environmental impact were the pairing of Brabham/Pagenaud in LMP and Corvette Racing's Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen in GT.

In the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Championship, Lucas Down won the second of the two races that took place over the weekend, with a total time of 1:14:16.121.

Brad Rampelberg of San Jose, CA took the checkered flag in the Playboy MX-5 Cup race edging out Knoxville, TN native Lyonel Kent by .255 seconds.

In the Castrol Touring Car Championship, The Greater Toronto Area took all three steps on the podium in the Super Touring Class. Toronto's Dave Ciekiewicz won for the second straight day and was followed by fellow Torontonian Gregory Pootmans. Brampton's Sasha Amis was third.

Markham, ON resident Tom Kwok won in the Touring class.
