No. 20 Dyson Sebring Diary: 18:25 Saturday with Bonus Coverage of the 16 Car
The Dyson Porsche RS Spyders continue to pit every hour on the 25-minute mark with Marino Franchitti bringing the 20 Car first in, this time with a quick a 1:20 in and out of the pit lane.
Two minutes later, Guy Smith flashed into the 16 Car pits, running first overall with a narrow under five-second lead over the No. 7 Penske Spyder and turned the car over to Chris Dyson, who returned to the fray some minute and a half behind the 7.
A fuel-mileage battle to the checkered flag between the 16 and the 7 was shaping up because the teams were pitting about a half hour apart. However, half an hour the 16's current fuel run, yet another full-course caution period crunched onto the scene and was within an acceptable fuel window for the Penske to pit. Needing a top-up of oil, the 16 also pitted, putting the cars in the same fuel window.
On the restart, the No. 7 Penske, the No. 16 Dyson and the No. 20 Dyson were lined up some dozen seconds apart with the No. 15 Lowe's Fernandez Acura in close contact with the three leading Porsches.
And there's a good three hours to go!
