{TX} Sonoma, Calif., The Audi R8's capitalized on their one and two qualifying positions finishing in the same order for the two-hour-and-forty-five minute Grand Prix of Sonoma at Sears Point Raceway.

Allan McNish took off from pole and set a blistering pace in the 85-degree heat. McNish in the number 77 Audi lapped the field on his 70th circuit to put the cap on an excellent weekend. "After 20 laps the car became more consistent and I was able to set a good pace. I had to make up a little bit for what happened at the Nurburgring. Lap record, fastest race lap and an Audi one - two makes for a great weekend." Emanuele Pirro and Frank Biela finished second making it an Audi one - two. "One and two of course is a very good position. Second position for us is all right because Alan was very fast. After his first stint he was out of reach already. So there was no chance to take the lead, I was hard pressed by the number one Panoz," said Biela.

"What a weekend! After the Nurburgring it is nice to the Audi team back on top. The result also works well for the championship; the guys really did a great job. The result is extra special because it moves into second position in the manufacturers standings," said Len Hunt, head of Audi Sport North America. <pre> Sears Top Ten Results 1.
