Darren Law and Flying Lizard Motorsports Looking to Carry GT Points Lead Through ALMS Enduro in Sonoma

July 12, 2004 Phoenix, Arizona -- Darren Law and the Flying Lizard team are anxious to take to the track for the American Le Mans Series Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma to be held the weekend of July 16-18 at the highly technical and challenging 2.52 mile 12 turn Infineon Raceway. Law of Phoenix and Johannes van Overbeek of San Francisco, who currently lead the ALMS GT class driver's championship points race, will again try to place the team's #45 ShoreTel/eSilicon/Brocade Porsche GT3 RSR on the podium.

Although new to the American Le Mans Series, the Flying Lizard team has quickly established itself as a competitive factor in the 2004 bid for the GT championship. ALMS veteran Law is happy to be a part of the team, and realizes that the current success they have seen has been a group effort.

"To show so well this early in the season is a testament to the caliber of this team, from the drivers to the crew and everyone involved," said Darren. "I don't think we could have been this consistent without everyone doing their part. I'm hoping we can continue what we've been doing through the rest of the year."

Infineon Raceway has undergone several changes over the years, but still remains as challenging a track as ever. Law, who has raced at Infineon in years past has always enjoyed the facility.

"It's definitely one of the tougher tracks on the schedule, " remarked Law. "There are all kinds of transitions and elevation changes. This is definitely a driver's track."

The American Le Mans Series Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma is a scheduled 2 hour 45 minute endurance event and will start at 3:00 pm EST on Sunday, July 18th. The race will be carried live by CBS.
