Times tumble for JML Team Panoz in Sebring qualifying.

JML Team Panoz may have repeated their positions from yesterday's Sebring practice in 8th and 13th during qualifying, but the two Panoz LMP-01 machines each recorded their fastest laps of the week today.

Olivier Beretta took the #10 Panoz into the 51 second bracket for the first time this week, recording a qualifying time of 1:51.807 in the LMP-01 he will drive with Gunnar Jeannette and Max Papis.

Scott Maxwell also improved dramatically, slicing his time down to 1:54.386 in the #11 car he will share with John Graham and Benjamin Leuenberger.

"I am very happy for all the team and the guys who have worked very hard because we arrived here with drivers who have not had a lot of miles in the car and just worked hard on improving the package," Beretta said.

"I was quite happy to get into the 51 second bracket because it was a nice solid lap without putting the car at risk.

"We now have a good starting spot on the fourth row and will concentrate tonight on our race package and running full tanks.

"The Michelin package has been strong as always and Max and Gunnar have done a great job so far.

"Everybody is really looking forward to the race and very motivated. We really want to do a good job for John (McLoughlin) and hope he can be back with us soon."

JML Team Panoz enteres the 51st Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring without team owner John McLoughlin who is recovering from a recent stroke.

Bentley dominated qualifying, taking the first two spots on the grid in their first race in North America.

Canadian Scott Maxwell continues to impress aboard the #11 JML car, improving dramatically despite having never driven the car before Tuesday.

"The positive aspect was that we went a couple of seconds quicker than what we did previously," Maxwell said.

"I am still coming up to speed in learning the limit of the Michelin tires and the aerodynamics, but each day has been a step in the right direction.

"It would have been nice to be a little quicker, but the three of us are still learning the car. Ben (Leuenberger) and John (Graham) will do most of the night running tonight to get more laps under their belt and make sure the lights are working well."

The JML Team Panoz squad will hit the track for night practice tonight before the final day of preparations tomorrow. Saturday's race begins at 10.30am.
