QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WITH LG MOTORSPORTS
Lou Gigliotti, Doug Peterson and the rest of the LG Motorsports/Riley Technologies gang want to make an immediate impact in the American Le Mans Series. The first step was entering a Corvette C6 in the Series' GT2 class for 2008. The next step? Trade their driver suits in for microphones and recorders.
Gigliotti and Peterson will drive the No. 28 Corvette with Marc Goossens on Saturday in the 56th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida. But before they do that, they decided to do their own Q&A for americanlemans.com.
"So Doug," Gigliotti asked pointedly, "what took you so long to get into racing?"
"Sebring is really my home track now that I am Bonita Springs," Peterson said. "The track is so special with the bumps and high speeds and the grip level that changes. It is a totally different track. I know it extremely well have been fortunate to do really well here. It's something that you have to race here time and time again to really get that feel."
From Peterson: "Is it true you painted the Corvette yellow because your wife likes the color?"
"Well, it's not completely yellow," Gigliotti responded. "It's like a space shuttle on re-entry. We did it on a whim one time and it has stuck ever since. I was told by my Chevrolet dealer that the only color to paint a car is yellow because it shows up well on TV. My cars were always black so we threw some flames on the front and it's stuck."
