O'CONNELL: IF WE RACED HERE TWICE A YEAR, I'D BE HAPPY

"It's nice to see someone make a commitment to road racing the way this place has," Johnny O'Connell said Thursday. "If we raced here twice a year, I'd be happy."

So Corvette Racing's ranking driver likes it at Miller Motorsports Park. The rhythm of the 4.5-mile track, the grip and combination of 24 corners remind O'Connell of another lengthy circuit that he and Corvette Racing will tackle next month.

"There are many aspects of this track that will help for Le Mans," he said. "Le Mans is also very smooth with long straightaways and fast turns. We've made a lot of improvements to the Corvettes for driver cooling and driver comfort. This will be a good opportunity to test that. It's a system that in a 24-hour race should pay dividends as you get toward the end."
