Muscle Milk Team CytoSport eager to get back to racing in Utah

Benicia, CA (July 1, 2010) - After a long break in the racing schedule, Muscle Milk Team CytoSport is anxious to return to the track next week at Miller Motorsports Park for the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix to keep building on its impressive 2010 performances.

Even though it has been more than a month since Muscle Milk Team CytoSport's last race in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron - due to the 24 Hours of Le Mans break - the team still has its second place finish overall at Laguna Seca fresh in its memory.

The finish at Laguna Seca, where the team also led 18 laps, was the best overall result for the Muscle Milk squad since returning to the championship 12 months ago.

After claiming an LMP2 class victory at the season-opening 12 Hours of Sebring, they then went on to place third at Long Beach as part of the new combined LMP class.

Those performances, combined with the team's successes in 2009, have given the Porsche and Michelin supported Muscle Milk Team CytoSport squad seven consecutive podium finishes.

Additionally, when taking into consideration all the ALMS races the team has participated in since 2007, the Benicia, California based group has an impressive 11 podium finishes in 12 starts.

Sascha at Laguna aboard RS Spyder The team will be carrying plenty of momentum heading into Miller Motorsports Park as it looks to keep its streak alive and make its first trip to the 3.048-mile, 15-turn road course a memorable one.

The pair of Greg Pickett and Klaus Graf will also be trying to take back its first place atop the LMP Team Championship points standings in which they currently sit second, four points behind Highcroft Racing.

After sitting out the last race at Laguna Seca, Pickett is eager to get back behind the wheel of the Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder. While Graf has previously competed at Miller Motorsports Park, this will be Pickett's first time.

Both Pickett and Graf will take advantage of the promoter test day on Friday, July 9 before official practice for the Utah Grand Prix begins on Saturday, July 10 with a one-hour session from 9:30 a.m. MT. Teams will also get another hour of practice starting at 1:45 p.m. MT before LMP qualifying at 3:25 p.m. MT.

The two-hour and 45-minute event will go green at 2:35 p.m. MT on Sunday, July 11 and will be broadcast live on SPEED starting at 4:30 p.m. ET. Live radio coverage will also be available on American Le Mans Radio presented by Porsche as well as Sirius Channel 127 and XM Channel 242.

What they have to say:

Greg Pickett, Owner / Driver #6 Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder
"I'm anxious to get back in the Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder after sitting out the race at Laguna Seca and especially after this long break. This will be not only the team's but also my first race at Miller Motorsports Park and I'm really looking forward to it. I think we have a good car for that track but the competition level in this series is so high that it won't be an easy task, plus factoring in the heat will make things very interesting. But I'm confident that we will be able to keep on performing as we have been.

"The team has done such an amazing job since we started and I can't say enough about how proud I am of Muscle Milk Team CytoSport."

Klaus Graf, Driver #6 Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder
"It will be great to be get back in the car after our "Le Mans break" in the ALMS. I raced at Miller Motorsports Park in 2006 but back then we used the long track configuration. Now with the slightly shorter layout it will be interesting to see how we can perform with our Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder. The track is very smooth and has a lot of medium and high-speed corners, which should suit our car.

"Racing in the dessert in July can be brutal because of the influence the heat will have on both machine and driver and it could be a deciding factor for the result of the race.

"If we run trouble free for the whole race, we should certainly have a chance of keeping our podium streak alive."
