Notes and quotes

No. 67 was brought in early due to a water hose leak.

No. 66 continues to have gearbox problems, causing second gear to pop out. Setup changes are continuing to be made.

No. 66 - Kevin Buckler:

"It's really hot and the gear troubles are making it difficult, but that will be taken care of tonight. The tires feel great and we're still working with the setup. We'll be fresh and ready to go tomorrow."

No. 66 - Brian Cunningham:

"It's really hard to drive with damaged equipment. It's difficult to learn the track with the gear popping out. I don't feel comfortable right now and I don't feel as if I've learned enough about the track itself. I'm a little disappointed, but we'll see what happens tomorrow."

No. 67 - Michael Schrom: He will be in the car tomorrow, getting as much time as he can during the morning practice session.

No. 67 - Darren Law:

"The car feels decent, though it's really hard to tell because I haven't had enough laps because of the water hose leak that occurred in both the morning and afternoon practice sessions. We've got a good program, one car is sorted and we just need to get this car going. For a temporary circuit, they have done a good job. It's really wide, with lots of room to pass which will make for a good race."

No. 66

Last lap out: second in class

Quickest lap: 1:13.869 (Buckler in car)

Crew chief with a knack for gadgets

For crew chief Gary Biehl, racing is his business. He has been behind the wheel as well as part of various crews since 1986 and has really learned the ins and outs of being involved in every aspect of motorsports. He finds himself on the road a lot this season with TRG's hectic schedule participating in both ALMS and Grand Am, but when Biehl is not at race tracks each weekend and commuting from TRG headquarters in Sonoma, Calif. to his home in Sacramento, he runs his own business by the name of Capitol City Motorsports. The business concentrates on the manufacturing and sales of specialized racing equipment, what Biehl likes to call gadgets. He designs and welds his own gear, which includes everything from drink bottle systems and grill screens to air jack safeties. He tests a lot of his prototypes on TRG cars and currently TRG is using his grill screens on No. 66 and 67 as well as his drink bottle system. Because Biehl spends so much time on the road, he hasn't been able to focus on his business and he looks forward to a little down time so he can start designing his gadgets again.
