Live Nation Presents Jeremy McGrath Commemorative Sculpture to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum

AURORA, IL. (July 5, 2007) -- When AMA Supercross icon Jeremy McGrath announced his retirement from racing full-time on a professional level, series promoter and producer, Live Nation, committed to commemorating his accomplishments through numerous tributes. On Thursday, July 26, at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio, McGrath will be honored with a unique bronze sculpture, commissioned by Live Nation, and crafted by artist Steve Posson. McGrath, accompanied by his family, will be present to unveil the new addition to the Museum's permanent collection. The unveiling is scheduled for 5pm and will immediately precede the dedication of 'Malcolm!', the Museum's new exhibit honoring the legendary Malcolm Smith.

"When Jeremy McGrath retired from full-time supercross competition, Live Nation Motor Sports' President, Charlie Mancuso, announced that the company would do several things to permanently recognize the accomplishments of McGrath as the sport's winningest rider," said Roy Janson, vice president of operations, Live Nation. "One commitment was to create the Jeremy McGrath scholarship with the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and the other was to commission a bronze art work, to be displayed at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. The dedication of the statue at the Museum this July will fulfill that commitment to Jeremy and will leave a lasting tribute to his career and his contributions to the sport of supercross. This timeless statue will give every future visitor to the museum something to enjoy and to reflect on- the remarkable career of Jeremy McGrath."

McGrath, who began his professional racing career in 1989, is the all-time winningest supercross racer with seven AMA Supercross championships and 72 wins. In addition to his AMA Supercross titles, he captured two Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites championships. Arguably the most recognizable supercross racer to date, McGrath brought the sport into the mainstream. He appeared on late night talk shows and in national magazines, and served as a spokesman for several highly recognized corporations.

While McGrath's accomplishments on the track inspired awe, it was his outgoing personality and accessibility that made him a true star. During the 1990s, McGrath's popularity led to sky-rocketing attendance figures and soaring television ratings for the sport of supercross. Ever true to his fans, McGrath followed his retirement announcement in 2003 with one final tour of the circuit.

"McGrath raised supercross to a new level," said Mark Mederski, Executive Director of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. "We are excited this memorial will keep his exciting talent fresh in the minds of all of our visitors."

Jeremy and his wife Kim currently live in Southern California and are proud parents of their daughter Rhowan Parker McGrath.

2002 - McGrath earned 250cc AMA Supercross series podium finishes at Atlanta, Pontiac, Mich., and Irving, Tex., but was denied victory... Raced with Bud Light Yamaha team.

2001 - McGrath took victories at the first and second Anaheim, Calif., rounds of the AMA 250cc Supercross series, and had nine additional podium finishes... Raced with Mazda Yamaha team.

2000 - McGrath had another stellar season in the AMA EA Sports 250cc Supercross series. He took ten wins and had four additional podium finishes en route to his seventh AMA Supercross title... McGrath entered the season opener of the AMA Chevy Trucks 250cc U.S. Motocross Championship, taking sixth-place overall... Raced with the Mazda Chaparral Yamaha team.

1999 - Won his sixth career AMA 250cc Supercross title with eight wins and four additional podium finishes, and climbed to the top of the all-time AMA Motocross/Supercross win list with 77 combined victories. McGrath chose to compete in a few select races of the AMA 250cc Motocross Nationals. Rode with team Chaparral Mazda Yamaha.

1998 - Perennial Motocross/Supercross Champion McGrath captured his fifth 250cc Supercross title with seven wins and five additional podium finishes. Won the Sacramento, Calif., round of the 250cc Mazda Truck Motocross Nationals, but injuries forced his withdrawal after just three series races...rode for Chaparral Yamaha.

1997 - Had 250cc Supercross wins at Minneapolis, Minn., and St. Louis...Seven Supercross podium finishes...Finished outside the top-10 just once at the season opener in Los Angeles...Had five overall podium finishes in 250cc National Motocross and never finished outside the top-10. Signed with Chaparral for 1998 season.

1996 - Named AMA/Speedvision Pro Athlete of the Year...Broke the AMA Supercross record for the number of wins in a season by winning 14 races in the 15-race series... Suffered his only Supercross loss of 1996 in St. Louis where he finished second to Jeff Emig...Earned his fourth consecutive AMA Supercross Championship... Won seven AMA 250cc Motocross events and finished runner-up in the series... Won both of his races at the Motocross des Nations leading the U.S. team to victory.

1995 - Won his third consecutive AMA Supercross title... Won his first AMA 250cc Motocross title... Won his second straight World Supercross Championship.

1994 - Won his second AMA Supercross Championship winning nine of 15 events... Won the 1994 World Supercross Championship.

1993 - Won his first AMA Supercross Championship in his rookie season... Selected for U.S. Motocross des Nations team.
