Chicagoland: Justin Allgaier preview

Joliet, IL (September 6, 2007) -Justin Allgaier and the ARCA RE/MAX Series head to the Chicagoland Speedway for the 20th race of the 23 scheduled events in the 2007 season for the running of the Chicagoland ARCA 200 Saturday, September 8, 2007.

Allgaier has one previous ARCA RE/MAX Series start at the 1.5-mile D-shaped race track in Joliet, Illinois. His first start was in 2006 where he finished in the 29th place position after a broken brake rotor and caliper ended his day on lap 94.

"We are pretty optimistic going into the weekend," Allgaier said. "Even after as bad of a day we had there last year. We did a Hoosier tire test at Chicagoland and adjusted the car for that tire they were testing, but we ran some pretty fast times. The times were consistent with the times from the open test the ARCA RE/MAX Series held. We may not have the car to win the race but we are confident we have at least a top-five car here this weekend."

The Speedway just outside Chicago, sits next to its sister track the Route 66 Raceway which is a record setting drag strip and dirt oval named for the historic road that connects Chicago and Los Angeles. The Chicagoland Speedway also hosts NEXTEL Cup Series, NASCAR Busch Series, IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series and the IRL IndyCar Series.

Allgaier heads to the last three races of the ARCA RE/MAX Series season in the fourth place position in 2007 Championship Points posting three top-five and ten top-10 finishes in the last 19 events this year. In 2007 car owner points, Mike Allgaier the owner of the No. 16 ARCA RE/MAX Series car rounds out the top-five just 10 points ahead of the sixth place position and 120 points from fourth.
