Record Entry Increases Dexter Bean's Determination
Collects Top-15 In PFG Lester 150

LEBANON, Tennessee (April 18, 2006) - - The Nashville Superspeedway was a busy place this past Easter weekend. The Easter Bunny delivered a record-breaking number of entries for the second event for the ARCA RE/MAX Series this season. The PFG Lester 150 (150 miles/113 laps) event took place Saturday April 15, with 68 racers ready to take home the guitar.

Qualifying began Friday afternoon excelling Dexter Bean into the 24th spot with a dizzying speed of 30.578 seconds at 159.936 MPH. Bean was sporting the No. 6 Vote4Dexter.com-Five Star Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the event. After qualifying solidly for his first race of the season, Bean and his BlackJack Racing crew were keyed up about competing in the race.

The race kicked off on Saturday at 12:30 EST and aired live on SPEED where fans across the nation could follow Bean's every move. Starting in 24th place, Bean quickly advanced and was in the running for the desired top-ten position. Throughout the first quarter of the event, Bean paced himself, taking one position at a time without making any unnecessary moves that would take him out of contention. Continuing to run strong, a caution flew approaching lap 40 with a decision to be made. Do we pit or not? His crew chief Chris Bires and Mentor Jeff Spraker of Spraker Racing made the call to pit. Bean flew into the pits on lap 40 hoping to maintain his position with a quick stop. He came in requesting four tires and fuel. The car was running strong so any other adjustments weren't necessary. Bean took off in what seemed to be the blink of an eye. The pit stop was fast.

It turns out that the pit stop was too fast. Bean made one lap and came back into the pits. The left rear tire was missing a lug nut, and was vibrating severely. This cost some time, but Bean went right back in ready to give everyone a show still remaining on the lead lap.

"We had a strong car the entire day and our only problem was that the pit-stops didn't go according to plan, which set us back a little," said Bean, a native of Westby, Wisconsin.

Bean maintained his top-20 status throughout the rest of the race striving for another top ten finish to his resume. Despite losing a little ground due to small errors, Bean rallied and achieved a solid 15th place finish. After missing the first event of the season, Saturday's finish seemed like a small victory.

"We are really proud of our top-15 accomplishment, this was a great start to our season," explained Bean. "My team along with Jeff Spraker of Spraker Racing is really happy we ran as well as we did and that we brought the car home in one piece. We are all looking forward to racing Nashville again this summer."

Nashville's finish is not the only accomplishment that Bean is proud of. He has also been selected for an upcoming reality television series, Racin' for a Livin'. Bean was selected out of 1,600 applicants, into the top 50 to participate in this new series. Fans from every corner of the world have the chance to cast their online votes for Bean until the end of July. Fans can log on to www.vote4dexter.com to place their vote.

The winner of this series will be given the opportunity to be fully sponsored in seven NASCAR Busch Series cars in the 2007 season. Let's lend a helping hand and send this talented young man to the Busch Series.

Next up for Bean and the ARCA RE/MAX Series is the first short track event of the season from Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana. Bean will aim to mature a top-ten finish as he strives to make his first ever short track start in ARCA.
