NASHVILLE TN (3-25-05) Erin Crocker, in her career-first ARCA RE/MAX Series attempt, won the Pork Pole Award Friday afternoon at Nashville Superspeedway for Saturday's PFG Lester 150. Crocker, in the Evernham Motorsports Dodge, qualified with a speed of 164.602 mph.

"I wasn't as comfortable today as I was in testing," explained Erin Crocker. "Starting up front will be helpful and I'm in some very good company."

In doing so, Crocker becomes only the third female driver in ARCA RE/MAX Series history to qualify for a pole position. Patty Moise won pole awards at Talladega twice in 1988 and again at Daytona in 1989. Shawna Robinson won the pole at Michigan in 2000.

Ken Weaver, in the 1-800-4-A-Phone Chevrolet, qualified second with a speed of 161.023 mph. "We were only able to complete four laps of practice," stated Ken Weaver. "The team worked hard and it paid off."

Five-time Nashville polesitter Frank Kimmel, in the Advance Auto Parts-Pork Ford, qualified third at 160.334 mph. Rookie Joey Miller, in the Country Joe Homes Dodge, was fourth at 160.318 mph. Chad Blount, in the Foretravel Motorhomes Chevrolet, was fifth at 160.125 mph.

The PFG Lester 150, which serves as the preamble to the same-day NASCAR Busch Series Pepsi 300, is LIVE on SPEED Channel Saturday at 1:30 pm eastern.

Signed with Ray Evernham Motorsports in 2004 to a driver development program under which Erin will compete in the NASCAR Busch Series, the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the USAC Silver Crown Series in 2005. Veteran of World of Outlaw sprints, All-Star sprints, ESS sprints, ELS sprints, mini-sprints and quarter midgets. First female to win an A-main feature event in World of Outlaws competition in 2004. First female in history to qualify into the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway IA in 2003. Named Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year '03 becoming first woman to have the honor. Won 5 ESS A-main feature events, 12 heats and awarded the 360 Wild Card award and ESS Outstanding Newcomer award from National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2001. The team was also honored as the 360 Team of the Year by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame '01. ELS sprint Rookie of the Year '99. Mini-sprint Rookie of the Year at Whip City Speedway '97. Graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York with bachelor's degree in Industrial & Management Engineering in 2003.
