Hedlesky and Hardcore Motorsports Ready for "Home Run"

Huntersville, NC. (June 12) -- Jason Hedlesky and his Hardcore Motorsports team are preparing for this Friday's Hantz Group 200 ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Michigan International Speedway. For Hedlesky and his Hardcore team, Friday's race marks the first time the two get to compete together in their home state. "MIS is so special to me, all the memories I have there as a young man watching my hero's race," states Hedlesky.

"My father took me there for the first time when I was eight years old. I remember walking up to the fence as one of the cars zoomed by and I knew right then...I would race here someday," adds Hedlesky. Hedlesky grew up in Clinton, MI, about 15 miles east of the speedway.

In addition to this being Hedlesky's home state, his team, Hardcore Motorsports, is based in Brighton, MI. Almost all of Hardcore's team members call Michigan home, making this weekends event a homecoming of sorts.

"Racing at Michigan is my Super Bowl," says Hedlesky; "and I know my team feels the same way about racing at home in front of friends and family."

Hedlesky's first race at MIS came in the June-2000 ARCA event. He finished 14th in only his second ARCA start. In addition to five ARCA races at Michigan, Hedlesky also competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at MIS in 2002. After leading several laps and always being a threat at MIS, Hedlesky is ready to put his #08 into victory lane on Friday.

"It has been a tough season for us at Hardcore Motorsports. We started the season great at Daytona, leading a lap and finishing 11th, but we have had some personnel changes and some uncontrollable circumstances that have put us behind the eight ball," says Hedlesky. "I have great car owners that are really committed to making this thing work and a great group of guys that are working really hard. We all know it will take a little time and what better place to turn the corner than Michigan?"

Along with the race team, Hardcore Motorsports also has a state-of-the-art, high-performance speed shop that includes: a complete staff of mechanics and engineers, a full line of after-market parts and accessories and a fully-equipped chassis dyno. Hardcore Motorsports is co-owned by Nevie Richardson and Bill Wells.

You can see Hedlesky and the Hardcore Motorsports team in action this Friday, June 16 in the Hantz Group 200 @ Michigan International Speedway, aired live on SPEED at 5:00 p.m. EST.
