Leonard Loses Primary Car In Kansas Practice Incident

Kansas City, Kansas - - After securing the fastest time overall during practice sessions at Kansas Speedway Friday, Johnny Leonard and the Boca Bay Racing team were forced to pull out a backup Chevrolet Monte Carlo after Leonard slid in some oil and hit the turn three wall during his first lap of the second practice session Friday morning.

The team rolled out a backup 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo also purchased from Braun Racing for Friday's afternoon PORK pole qualifying and tomorrow's race. This is the same automobile the team utilized at Michigan International Speedway last month and was running in the top-ten before a blown tire sent the team into the pits and placing 18th.

The Kansas Lottery $200 Grand is the ninth of 23 events on the 2005 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Qualifying is on tap this afternoon with the race set to take the green flag Saturday, July 2nd, 2005.
