JOLIET IL, 8-30-01 - Tim Steele went out last, but he came out first. Steele, in the final moments of qualifying, knocked Jason Jarrett off the top-spot to win the Old Milwaukee Pole Award here Thursday afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway.

The 3-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion steered his own T&D Motorsports Ford around the 1.5-mile superspeedway at an average speed of 170.778 mph setting a new 1-lap track record along the way.
