Music City Just Not Playing Allgaier's Tune
Nashville, TN (August 15, 2006) - While Justin Allgaier enjoys the country music that Music City produces he just couldn't get in tune with the 1.33-mile concrete Nashville Superspeedway. Torrential rain storms forced an early end to practice on Friday and postponed qualifying until Saturday morning where Allgaier qualified 13th for the 150 lap event. Allgaier improved his run in Nashville after missing the first ARCA RE/MAX Series race in April by a mere eleven-tenths of a second and navigated his way through a caution filled race Saturday afternoon to finish 16th on the board.
"I love the music that comes out of Nashville," Justin Allgaier said. "But that is about it. Nashville Superspeedway hasn't been kind to this team and I'm looking forward to going to Michigan next week. We had a great car in practice yesterday and really thought we'd be able to get a top-five start, but with the rains that came through, they moved qualifying until this morning not really knowing how the track would be. We had taken a little tape off which hurt us but a 13th place start wasn't too bad. We got loose during the race, spun and blew out a tire causing us to go a lap down. The handling of the car afterwards was just not the same -- we were able to make some adjustments to bring home a pretty decent finish. We had planned on taking this car to Michigan next week and suffered a little frame and body damage which will cause a lot of work when we get home. This team is awesome though so I know we'll be in Michigan ready to roll. The next few tracks are some of my favorites where we've had some great finishes so I'm confident that this is just the beginning of a great turnaround for the team."
Allgaier and the rest of the ARCA RE/Max Series heads to the Michigan International Speedway Friday night and then straight to Springfield, Illinois for the first dirt track race of the season next Sunday.
