Allgaier Revisits Salem Speedway

Salem, IN (September 12, 2006) -Justin Allgaier heads back to the historic Salem Speedway for the running of the Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 ARCA RE/MAX race on Saturday, September 16th. Allgaier has made four trips to the high banked .555 mile oval situated in the scenic hills of Southern Indiana; the most recent being in April for the spring ARCA race.

Allgaier captured the outside pole for the running of that race but an unapproved adjustment in Happy Hour sent Allgaier to the rear at the start. The Rookie of the Year contender rebounded up to the third place position at lap 150 when tragedy struck. Allgaier's alternator went dead and was forced to pit for a battery change ending his chance of a trip to Victory Lane.

"We've really gone through some ups and downs this season," Justin Allgaier said. "I've always run well in Salem like we did in April. But we had to make the adjustment that started us in the back and then once we worked our way back up there, the alternator went dead. Although we were 15 laps down, we were able to run in the top-ten posting times close to the leaders. This weekend we are bringing 'Gator.' It typically wouldn't be an intermediate car and it's an unusual change, but this car has been really good to us in the past and I think we'll be on the top of our game with it. I'm looking forward to improving our luck in these final three races and hopefully gaining back some much needed championship points."

The Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 by Advance Auto Parts race is slated to begin at 7:15pm CT Saturday night. Allgaier will drive the six hours home directly after the 200 lap event to be back in time to race in Sunday's Dirt Late Model Event at the Springfield Mile.
