Oil Line Issues Slows Brent at Kansas Speedway

Kansas City, Kansas - (October 1, 2010) - The Allgaier Motorsports team and Shelby Twp, Michigan driver Robb Brent headed to Kansas Speedway for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Re/MAX and Menards Kansas Lottery 150, with the momentum of two straight top ten finishes looking for more.

The day started off right with 5th in practice and a 14th place starting position for the race after qualifying. When the green flag dropped, Brent quickly picked up two spots. After a quick yellow he got back into a rhythm and settled in a pace running in the top 15. As the laps clicked off the Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Charger got tighter and harder to turn through the center of the corners. The team was hoping for a caution to come out where they could bring the car down pit road for an adjustment.

In the next few laps smoke began creeping out from under the hood of the #36 machine and the day took a turn for the worst. The smoke got worse and worse until they finally had to take the car to the pits to see what the problem was. After several minutes with the hood up the team found that an oil line with a hole in it was the issue. Crew Chief Dave Leiner II sent the car to the garage, Brent could only sit and wait as the laps went by. The team worked hard to fix the oil line and get the car back out on the track but they would be more than 30 laps down to the leaders.

After running the final laps to gain as many points as possible, Brent would finish in the 27th position. "This was a big disappointment today at a track where we could run well," Brent said. "After practice I really thought it was going to be a good day but we can't shake these mechanical gremlins that we have fought all year." Brent sits 11th in points and needs a strong run at the series finale to regain his top 10 position in the championship standings.
