Allgaier Hopes to Give Mom Points Lead for Mother's Day

Sparta, Kentucky -(May 10, 2007)- While most racing mom's look forward to having their sons, daughters and husbands' home for Mother's Day, Dorothy Allgaier differs in that opinion as she would rather be at the race track watching her family working on their No. 16 Allgaier Motorsports ARCA RE/MAX Series car.

Mrs. Allgaier is actually the reason her son is racing. Dorothy wanted Justin to get into racing in hopes that he would grow closer to his father, Mike. Mike was doing a lot of traveling trying to make Hoosier Tires-Midwest into the success it is today and because of that, Justin and Mike spent a lot of time apart. So with mom's encouragement Justin took to the track for the first time at five years old and his talent and enthusiasm has brought them closer than ever.

This Mother's Day, Justin Allgaier would like to give his mom the championship points lead when the ARCA RE/MAX Series leaves the Kentucky Speedway after the running of the Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 Saturday, May 12, 2007. Allgaier, who had a strong 95 points lead over eight-time series champion Frank Kimmel in the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points race when the series went to the Winchester Speedway last week, but Allgaier left with a 45 point deficit to the reigning champ after an overheating issue on lap 29.

"We got caught in something small which caused the car to overheat," Allgaier said. "We wanted to get the best finish as we could and as fast as the car was we knew we had to risk it and we did. It's just one of those bad days. We knew we had it coming, and today we had our bad day and lost the lead. There are still many races left in the season, we know we are going to have up and down days but we will take it as it comes and do the best we can. Yes, I sure would like to leave Saturday night with the lead for my mom. She encouraged my dad and me to get into racing so I really owe it to her and I think the only better present might just be a win at Kentucky."

Allgaier has three previous ARCA RE/MAX Series starts and one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races at the 1.5 mile Tri-oval racetrack in the Bluegrass state. His best start was sixth with a best finish of fourth both at the May 2005 race.

Allgaier and the rest of the ARCA RE/MAX Series drivers will take to the track Saturday, May 12th from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm, qualifying follows at 4:00 pm ET with the 100 lap / 250 mile race beginning at 8:00pm ET. Practice, qualifying and race updates will be available at www.ARCARacing.com.
