MARKS' NIGHT CUT SHORT AFTER LAP 129 INCIDENT

Concord, NC (3/25/07) - Justin Marks and the RAB Racing with Brack Maggard team showed up at USA Int'l Speedway Saturday, March 24 for 250 laps under the lights for the Construct Corps-PBG 250. With an 11th place starting position, Marks battled his way into the top five, and remained there until an incident on lap 129. The altercation sent Marks into the inside wall in turn four, damaging the front end of the car, and ultimately ending his night.

"We got wrecked," Marks said. "Plain and simple, we got wrecked. We were a solid top five car and all I was trying to do was stay clean, be respectful and keep the fenders and brakes on it when we got turned around. There isn't any history between Billy (Venturini) and I, we hadn't been battling for the position, and I hadn't gotten into him earlier in the race to where it would have been retaliation, so I don't know. When I saw that he was behind me, I figured that since this guy has been in the series for a long time he would race me clean, but instead we just got dumped. It is a shame, and I hate it, because everybody on this team works way too hard to be a victim of somebody's lack of patience."

The RAB Racing with Brack Maggard team did pull the Dodge Charger behind the wall in attempt fix the damage before having to call it a night.

"After another car made contact with Justin in turns 3 and 4, we received damage to the front end and ran the engine hot," Crew Chief, Robby Benton said. "We made a couple attempts to fix it, but ultimately felt we may hurt the engine by going any further. We have great horsepower and I want to have that engine when we go back to Salem. Everyone knew we were there and Justin continues to impress. We obviously wanted a better finish for Construct Corps, but we put on a good show while it lasted."

Up next for the RAB team is the Nashville ARCA 150 at Nashville Superspeedway Saturday, April 7th. The team was able to attend the open ARCA RE/MAX Series test on March 13th and left very confident in the race car they are bringing to the race.

"We've got to stick to our game plan from here," Marks said. "We are ultimately trying to make a run for the championship and with having had two really difficult races, we are in a hole right now. However, the upside of this is that it is a long season, and everyone is bound to have a few bad races, so we just have to stick to the game plan of bringing the best race cars possible to the race track and do what we can to be there at the end."

"I am very proud of this team and I think that everybody is doing exactly what they need to do in order to make these race cars fast. We have just been a victim of circumstance and a little unlucky. We have a car that I believe that can win the Nashville race, so the only thing I could ask for is a little luck."
