Friday, June 8, 2001 - Brooklyn, MI - Tim Steele is three time winner of the ARCA race at Michigan International Speedway. Steele is currently second in points. On Thursday, Steele qualified in 7th place with a speed of 183.753. This morning during final practice, Steele was fourth fastest with a time of 180.198.

How was the car running for final practice?

TS: Well...Don't look at the second half times. The second half times were where we were trying to see if the car could be adjusted either way, so I wasn't all that fast, but it's running good. First half times were good.

You have won this race three times, what is it going to take to win your 4th?

TS: A good day. There are about ten cars that can win this thing, so we have to be at the front at the last part of the race. We need to be able to adjust the car to make it good for the end. We ran the whole practice on a set of used tires and it ran good, then we put new tires on and it was okay too.

Steele commented on the fact that in his three previous wins here, he never started higher than sixth. He feels real lucky with his 7th place start for tomorrow's race.
