"Good Run Crucial For Team In Music City"

LEBANON, Tennessee (Tuesday, April 3, 2007) - - Alex Garcia, who made his ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) debut at Salem Speedway last September will take a major step in his stock car career this weekend when he attempts to make his first ever superspeedway appearance at Nashville Superspeedway.

Garcia, who recently made the transition from open-wheel competition to the heavier 3400-pound stock cars, is spending his 2007 racing season dabbling in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) in preparation for a full-time NBS effort in 2008. The Nashville ARCA 150 will serve as the first of the team's ARS events this season.

Rewinding back to Salem, Garcia made the 2006 event on time, qualifying 28th, and overcame some early race mechanical issues to collect a 20th place finish, not too shabby for an ARCA short track debut. With Salem in the rear view mirror, Garcia is focused on making a positive impression on both NASCAR and ARCA this weekend.

"As a team we are looking forward to the race this weekend, but we also know it's a critical race for us," said Garcia, who made his NASCAR Busch Series debut earlier this year in Mexico. "We are very confident in our ARCA program, but we're using this race to familiarize ourselves with the bigger tracks to prepare us for our future in NASCAR. If everything goes according to plan, we'll be back at Nashville Superspeedway in June attempting to make the Busch Series event, so this is a win-win situation for our team."

Transnet Racing participated in a private test session on March 31 and the team was pleased with the results. "I am glad that we tested," continued Garcia. "We worked out a lot of the bugs with our ARCA car and we won't have to deal with them before practice. Last Saturday was my first ever laps around Nashville Superspeedway; it's an impressive facility. Our times improved from start to finish and I really think we have a baseline set up where we can adjust on the car and go faster, that's important."

The organization is not only utilizing the third ARCA race of the season to gain knowledge and experience in an ARCA car but to help with NASCAR's approval process.

"The ARCA RE/MAX Series is a great developmental series," Garcia explained. "If NASCAR wants you to run an ARCA race they will tell you. It's a good ground breaking series for a lot of the newer competitors such as myself. We can learn a lot for the future by mixing our NASCAR schedule with ARCA. The more seat time the better for me in a stock car, so it's beneficial all the way around."

Garcia and company have partnered up with Darrell Basham Racing (DBR) and will hoist the No. 94 for the 13th ARCA RE/MAX event held at Nashville Superspeedway.

"Our team would like to extend a huge thank you to the Darrell Basham Racing team for allowing us to join forces this weekend," the Venezuelan driver added. "I don't see us missing the race during qualifying, but if Mother Nature should play havoc this weekend, the alliance with DBR will help us."
