Todd Bowsher qualified the GFS Marketplace #21 in a less than desirable 30th starting spot for the Waste Management 200 at Nashville Superspeedway on Friday afternoon, which left the driver and crew scratching their heads wondering what the problem was.

When the #21 crew arrived at the track to prepare the GFS Marketplace car for the race they found a problem with the engine just prior to pre-race inspection. The team rallied together and changed to the back up engine and got the car through the inspection procedure and onto the staring grid with a few minutes to spare before driver introductions, thus forcing Bowsher to the tail of the field for the green flag.

When the green waved, Bowsher not sure what kind of performance he could get from the back-up engine drove hard and managed to work his way to the lead pack of cars. The team elected to stay on the track when the leaders pitted and pick up the bonus points for leading, with that done Todd pulled the GFS Marketplace Ford onto pit road for tires and fuel and it was back to racing. Todd drove his GFS Marketplace #21 to a hard earned 16th place finish.

"I can't say enough about my crew, they all really gave 110% before this race to get that engine changed and get us on the grid." said Bowsher. He added, "When we found the problem this morning it was questionable that we could get it done and ready in time for the green flag, but we got it done. Dad and Joe Rhyne talked and decided we could get it changed even with the time restraints and they were right; this could have turned out a lot worse, if we had elected not to change engines we could have blown and got a lot worse finish than 16th."

The Jack Bowsher & Associates Motorsports Team will get down and dirty on the 1 mile dirt track at Springfield Illinois on Sunday August 22 for the Allen Crowe Memorial 100.
