Sheltra Motorsports; Sheltra Family To Be Honored In Florida

INDIANTOWN, Florida (November 8, 2010) - - On Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern), the Martin County Board of County Commissioners will congratulate the Sheltra Motorsports team and the Sheltra family for their accomplishment of winning the 2010 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards championship.

Indiantown, Florida native Patrick Sheltra recently completed his fourth full-season of ARCA competition with stellar results which allowed the family-owned team to take home their first ever stock-car championship since the team's formation in 2007.

In 20 ARCA Racing Series across the country, Sheltra guided by veteran crew chief Jon Wolfe captured two victories (Illinois State Fairgrounds (Springfield) and Chicagoland Speedway, grasped 12 top-fives and mounted 17 top-10 finishes. Sheltra, 24 led the series for the most top-fives and top-10 finishes. Sheltra's fourth place finish in the season finale at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway aboard the No. 60 Tequesta Road and Bridge of Florida / Jones Group International Toyota Camry secured the driver nicknamed "Mr. Showtime" his first driving championship by a mere 20 points from second place competitor Craig Goess Jr.

Sheltra is the first recipient from the state of Florida to take home the coveted championship trophy since the series' inception in 1953.

Co car-owners Grace and Rick Sheltra along with Sheltra Motorsports' Director of Public Communications Chris Knight will be on site to accept their congratulatory statements and answers questions from the Martin County Board of County Commissioners and media members on Tuesday morning.
