Great Weekend of Racing for Roush Yates Engines
Mooresville, NC (July 20, 2010) With the help of Roush Yates Engines, drivers all over the country were able to get the power and performance they needed to finish first this weekend. From St. Louis to New Jersey, Roush Yates drivers were the fastest in four different series, earning two poles and four wins total. Carl Edwards, Chris Buescher, Jack Roush Jr., Jason Rauen, and Kyle Cummings each had successful weekends in the NASCAR Nationwide, ARCA Racing presented by RE/MAX, GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sport Car Challenge, and Dirt Late Model series.
Carl Edwards, driver of the #60 Fastenal Ford Fusion, received his second win of the season in the NASCAR Nationwide series on Saturday night at Gateway International Raceway. In a thrilling event that ended with a drag race to the finish line, Edwards took the checkered flag first, claiming his 27th career Nationwide series win and third win at his home track. Fellow Roush Fenway teammates Paul Menard, Colin Braun, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. all finished in the top ten, a first for the team in 2010.
Jack Roush Jr. and Billy Johnson, drivers of the #61 ROUSH Performance Products Ford Mustang GT, dominated at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Saturday by setting the track qualifying record and winning the race. Roush Jr. and Johnson lead all but four laps in the Garden State 250, earning their second win in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge this season.
Another Ford driver to make headlines this weekend was young Chris Buescher, driver of the #17 David Ragan Fan Club Ford in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards. Buescher drove a lap of 16.496 seconds (109.124 mph) to win the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell at Mansfield Motorsports Park. The pole is the third in Buescher's career and his second this season in the ARCA Racing Series.
Jason Rauen and Kyle Cummings prevailed in the dirt this past week by using their Roush Yates powered Dirt Late Models to get to Victory Lane. Rauen got the win at Independence Motor Speedway for his first series victory on the Dart Corn Belt Clash circuit. Kyle Cummings received his fifth career O'Reilly Southern United Professional Racing tour victory at the half-mile Devil's Bowl Speedway. Raun drives the #98 Chevrolet sponsored by Rauen Precision Machining, Loctite, and Buraco Farms & Tractor Sales and Cummings drives the #R5 Victory Circle M1 by Stuckey Chevrolet.
