Hudson Roars To Life In Salem; Grabs Fourth
"Career Best Finish Puts Hudson Back In The Headlines"

SALEM, Indiana (Tuesday, April 24, 2007) - - Brett Hudson likes the spring Salem ARCA RE/MAX Series event. And for good reason. The successful late model driver pulled double-duty Sunday at the legendary half-mile short track and while his late model run wasn't we he was expecting, Hudson roared to life with an outstanding performance in his No. 12 Hudson Machine Chevrolet to notch a fourth place effort, a career best finish for the Kentucky native.

Hudson's weekend started off strong. In practice, he wheeled his Hudson Motorsports prepared Chevrolet Monte Carlo to the 13th fastest effort. Unsettled with his practice effort, Hudson answered the call in qualifying, putting his car eighth in the starting lineup. Fortunately for Hudson, he would never have to look back.

At the start, Hudson began making his moves. While studying his prey, Hudson knew he had to remained patient as the Salem curse could arise at any moment. When the first caution came out on lap 20 for an incident involving Jason Hedlesky, Josh Allison and Frank Kimmel, Hudson reported he had a good stable car and he was taking his time.

On the restart, Hudson continued his march towards the front, while never threatening for the lead early-on, the No. 12 automobile was never out of the leaders' sights when first round of pit stops occurred nearing halfway.

Hudson brought his car to the attention of his BHM (Brett Hudson Motorsports) team where they quickly changed tires, added Sunoco Racing fuel and set their driver back into the event. Unfortunately, the pit stop didn't come out without incident, as the team lost a tire forcing ARCA officials to put Hudson at the tail end of the longest line for the restart.

In the second half of the event, Hudson's lap times picked up, his adrenaline was pumping and he knew he had a shot at a personal best. With Brian Keselowski and Dexter Bean checking out from the rest of the field, Hudson was in his own intense battle with NASCAR Nextel Cup Series ace Ken Schrader who's crew chief Donnie Richardson is Hudson's uncle flew in from Phoenix International Raceway to play with ARCA's best.

The duo battled it out for several laps jockeying for the fourth and fifth place respectively. With a little rubbing and some hard endless racing, Hudson out mastered the veteran in the final laps never looking back and soared to his first top-five finish of his ARCA career.

"It was a good day," said Hudson, who competed in his 11th ARS (ARCA RE/MAX Series) race on Sunday. "I never gave up. My team never gave up and the results were promising. I'm really proud of all the hard work and dedication from my Brett Hudson Motorsports crew. They love to race, no doubt about that and we had a good time out there."

When asked about his encounter with Schrader, Hudson explained it was some of the best racing in his life. "It's really cool to race hard and clean with a driver like Ken Schrader. I had a lot of fun racing with him. We both drove clean and I think it was one of the best battles on the track. I persevered and took the position; it's something I will never forget."

Hudson and his group hope that their shining performance on Sunday will reflect in the sponsorship department so the team can travel to more races. "Hopefully someone was watching and saw how good this team can do," Hudson said. "We would like to run more of these ARCA events, but we need a little help to do so. Our next event is Kentucky Speedway next month and we hope to pull out the same type of performance like Salem."
