Allgaier Set for Second Salem Victory

Salem, Indiana (April 7, 2008) -Nine weeks after the season opener at the Daytona International Speedway, the ARCA RE/MAX Series will take to the track for race number two of the 23 race schedule at the Salem Speedway Sunday, April 13. One such participant excited to be back on track is Justin Allgaier who finished second at the Daytona International Speedway February 9, 2008.

Allgaier heads to the .555-mile short track in Salem, Indiana as the previous year's ARCA RE/MAX Series race winner after dominating the fall 2007 event leading five times for a total of 73 laps. Allgaier has seven previous starts at the short track with an average starting and finishing position of 6th. He has posted three top-five four top-10 finishes since his first ARCA RE/MAX race in 2003.

Allgaier just completed an open test at the Salem Speedway last week in hopes of bringing another victory for his team this weekend.

"I'm ready to go," Allgaier said. "It's been too long of a break and I am ready to get racing. It is always fun to run at Salem but tough to finish up front. Being the previous winner always makes it tougher to go back and get that repeat victory. It adds a little pressure but I think the test last week will help immensely. I am interested on how the tire situation will be since we have switched from Biased Ply tires to Radial tires this season on the short tracks. We've been running them on the speedways but this will be our first short track race with them. I am pretty confident that the Hoosier tires will be good. So far they wore really well in testing, but testing and practice is 180 degrees different than what you have in race situations. We'll use our head, race a smart race and hopefully that will put us upfront at the end."
