Concord, NC (October 16, 2003) - Venturini Motorsports' Billy Venturini is hitting 100. Races that is. When the ARCA RE/MAX Series takes to the half-mile South Boston short track this weekend, Venturini will be embarking on his 100th career ARCA start, and what better way to take the cake then to end the day in victory lane.

Venturini, a 27-year-old with a knack for short tracks, knocked out a third-place showing at South Boston last season, and this year he has been oh so close to victory lane numerous times.

As he embarks on his 100th-career start, Venturini currently holds 15 top-fives and 44 top-10 career finishes in the ARCA Series. Most recently driver 25 steered his racy machine to a ninth-place finish in the rain shortened EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 150 at the Lowe's Motor Speedway.

"We've had a great season this year, and I want to make sure I finish on a high note," Venturini says as he heads into the weekend. "My main goal is to hold on to the third spot in the point standings. That's what matters right now."

And that seems attainable for driver of the # 25 machine after a test session at South Boston in June for the originally scheduled July 2nd event. At the time Venturini was ready for the heated battles to brew on the short track, but Mother Nature had other plans. The race has since been delayed twice for inclement weather forcing the Chicago native to curb his hunger for the track he so adamantly believes he can clinch.

With Venturini's stats being stellar on the Virginia track, he is confident things should turn out no differently this time around. With a win the Chicago native can write his own storybook ending and add to his already impressive ARCA RE/MAX racing resume.

"I had very little driving experience prior to 1994. The ARCA Series has given me the opportunity to further develop my racing skills and showcase my talent. While most drivers were racing karts as kids, I was in the shop working and learning the business from my dad. Being a part of his championship success has given me the inside track and the ability to go out and get better with each and every start. My first 50 ARCA starts gave me valuable seat time and allowed me to learn the car and the different tracks we run. I had decent success, but my last 50 (49) have been extremely good...25 or 26 top-10 finishes. I expect to improve even more in the next 50."J
