Allgaier Anticipates Aerodynamics in Talladega

Talladega, Alabama (October 2, 2007) -ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Justin Allgaier heads to the Talladega Superspeedway with the sweet sound of victory still ringing in his ears. Allgaier had his career second win in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and his first of the 2007 season at the Salem Speedway after dominating the Eddie Gilstrap Motors 200. But Allgaier knows he has a whole new setup to go to this weekend as the Series takes to the Talladega Superspeedway for the running of the ARCA RE/MAX 250 (250 miles, 94 laps) Friday, October 6, 2007.

"It's been a lot of fun coming off the win in Salem for us," Allgaier said. "To get that monkey off our back for 2007 was great but we are ready to go forward. We only have these couple races left and I'd like to get all we can and that starts this weekend at Talladega."

Allgaier is known for his skills on the short tracks but he also has a flair for the superspeedways on the ARCA RE/MAX Series circuit. Allgaier's first superspeedway start came last October at the 2.66-mile Talladega, Alabama race track. Almost immediately Allgaier felt comfortable behind the wheel and advanced from his 28th place starting position to run in the top-10 throughout the event until 13 laps remaining in the race, the "big one" started in front of him collecting the No. 16 Chevrolet. The car was damaged beyond repair and taken to the garage sending the team home with a disappointing 26th place finish.

The young talent made his second superspeedway start and his career first start at the Daytona International Speedway in February. Allgaier, even after spinning early in the race, came from the 31st place starting position to finish seventh in his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut at the historic track.

"I really like the aerodynamic dependent tracks," Allgaier said. "We are able to draft really well in Daytona and here in Talladega. We tested here a few weeks back and overall it was a good test. We knew we needed to get better but we are pretty confident that we changed what needed to be changed and hopefully be pretty decent here Friday. I really enjoy Talladega; it's a fast track with a lot of excitement for the drivers and the fans. I'd love to walk away with a solid top finish and not get caught up in a big crash. Restrictor plate races can be really challenging and Talladega is a place as a driver you'd like to have a win so we'll see what we can do and hopefully make it two in a row."
