After turning in the 16th quickest time in Pork Pole Qualifying for the Hantz Group 200 Todd Bowsher knew the GFS Marketplace Ford would be good in the race.
When the green flag waved on the ARCA ReMax Series at Toledo Speedway, Bowsher took no prisoners and headed for the front looking like a man on a mission he made his way to the lead pack, all the while avoiding several on track mishaps. Battling with the leaders most of the night, a caution flew late in the race, Bowsher heading off of turn 2 came on the radio to this team on pit road and said he was out of fuel, a track vehicle hustled around and gave the GFS Marketplace #21 a push onto pit road and the crew went to work in a hurry fueled the car and got Bowsher back on the track without losing a lap. Although somewhat dejected by the miscalculation of fuel mileage Bowsher brought the GFS Marketplace Taurus home in the 12th finishing position.
Duquoin
The dirt mile track in Duquoin, Illinois produced a 22nd place Pork Pole qualifying effort for Todd Bowsher and his GFS Marketplace Team.
However, once the race was under way it became evident that Bowsher was feeling more comfortable on the dirt than ever, he raced hard and stayed with the lead pack most of the day, he and brother Bobby Bowsher contended with one another for several laps before Bobby suffered overheating problems, from there Todd set sail and moved into 12th place, but with less than 10 laps remaining the rains came and the race was called with the GFS Marketplace #21 finishing in the 12th position. A wet, muddy, and rain soaked Bowsher said after the checkered flag. "This is the most fun I've ever had on dirt, everyone kept telling me that dirt racing was supposed to be fun, and now I know what they mean, it was pretty cool racing with my brother out there, we both knew we could trust each other which made it even more fun."
Chicagoland
Todd Bowsher placed the GFS Marketplace Ford 21st on the starting grid for the ReadyHosting.com 200 at Chicagoland Speedway on Thursday afternoon. Bowsher said, "There are some heavy hitters here at this race, it's the last intermediate race of the year in the ARCA Series and everyone wants a shot at this place."
At the onset of the race, once again Bowsher moved through traffic placing himself in a position for a strong finish. On lap 35 rookie Walt Brannen lost control of his car and collected several others in the process, Bowsher got caught up in the multi car incident, but was able to get the #21 refired and on and off pit road without losing a lap. Bowsher was charging hard and battling for the 12th position, he jumped to the outside of the #24 of Chuck Weber to make the pass, when the GFS Marketplace Taurus broke loose and spun in turn 2 making contact with the outside retaining wall. With heavy damage, Bowsher was forced to the garage area and was credited with the 22nd place finishing position. "We had a strong car and were moving forward, we avoided a lot of big wrecks that were really not necessary, I just got up on the outside of Chuck (Weber) and lost the air." He added, We're looking ahead to Salem, it's the last short track race this year and we're gonna get em there."
