James Buescher Looks To Record Another Top-10 In Season Finale At Toledo Speedway
TOLEDO, Ohio (October 10, 2007) - - One can only wonder what would of happened if ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) rookie James Buescher would have ran the entire 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Looking at Buescher's incredible stats for the season, the Plano, Texas driver has racked in one victory, three top-fives and five top-10s in six starts. And as the 2007 season comes to a close this weekend at Toledo Speedway, Buescher looks for another satisfying performance.
In his last go-around with Minnesota's Country Joe Racing, Buescher collected a fourth place finish at Salem Speedway and his second straight top-10 at the half-mile bullring. Now returning to another bullring aka ARCA's home turf Toledo Speedway, Buescher is searching for his second victory of the season.
"Toledo, here we come," said Buescher, the 17-year old phenomenon. "I've had so much fun in the ARCA RE/MAX Series this year. We've been competitive in every single event this year and we're going to Toledo this weekend looking to end the season on a high note."
He continued, "I couldn't have asked for a better team to be associated with. These guys work hard and we've been able to deliver some stellar results. I knew coming into this season that we would have some great runs, but I didn't imagine the kind of record we've produced. It's a good feeling, believe me."
Even with the confidence that Buescher is carrying into the season finale this weekend, there's one obstacle that the avid driver faces, Toledo Speedway.
"I've never competed at Toledo Speedway before," added Buescher. "The team ran earlier this year with Matt Merrell and they had a good solid run. I'm not sure what to expect right away, so when I get to the track on Friday for the Fan Fest, I plan to take a close look at the track so I know what I'm up against before practice on Saturday."
Buescher noted, "Practice is crucial anywhere, but a track you've never visited it's extremely crucial. My crew chief Mike Chaffee has a good setup for the race, so it's going to be about me getting comfortable and I plan to do that quickly on Saturday. I would be surprised if we didn't qualify in the top-10. After that, we can turn all of our focus to the race itself."
Nate Thiesse, Director of Operations for County Joe Racing offered, "Our first short track race of the season we put James in the seat and he went on and delivered us a victory. We think we have a shot at doing the same in the final short track race of the season on Sunday. No matter what the outcome is, we've enjoyed the season with James and we're looking forward to working with him again next year."
