Toledo: Justin Marks race report

MARKS TAKES HOME 11TH AT TOLEDO

CONCORD, NC (5-21-07) Justin Marks showed up to Toledo Speedway having never seen the track, but with four short track starts under his belt, Marks was able to quickly learn what it takes to get around the half mile track and qualify a solid eighth. After pitting early in the race, Marks was working his way through the field when an altercation with another car caused Marks' tire to go flat. As a result, an unscheduled pit stop put the #65 Construct Corps Dodge a lap down to the leaders.

"It was a tough day for the RAB Racing team," Justin Marks said. "I think we had a pretty decent car that turned well, but we ultimately just lacked a little forward bite all day. This was my first time racing at Toledo and it was quite a learning experience. There isn't a lot of room and if someone doesn't let you by, you have to get physical. I made a few key errors in judgment that ended up costing us a lap to replace a flat tire. I take full responsibility for what was a lackluster day and a disappointing finish, but the good news is I know how to fix those problems and be a better racer in the future because of it."

Marks was able to dodge a few more accidents through out the race, but after a few efforts to regain his lap, Marks settled with an 11th place finish, one lap down.
