The 2000 season began at Toledo Speedway with all four weekly divisions in action. The feature winners were Bill Steinhilber ~ LM division, Ron Allen ~ Sportsman division, Paul Duffin ~ Factory Stocks and Ken Ahlgren ~ Figure 8 division.
The 2000 season began at Toledo Speedway with all four weekly divisions in action. The feature winners were Bill Steinhilber ~ LM division, Ron Allen ~ Sportsman division, Paul Duffin ~ Factory Stocks and Ken Ahlgren ~ Figure 8 division.
Polesitter Bill Steinhilber recorded his first win at Toledo. It was also Jack Burnette’s first career win as a car owner. Jerry Cook led for 18 laps until Steinhilber dove low and passed him on the backstretch. Steinhilber beat Cook to the checkered flag by a 1/2 straightaway.
Ron Allen won the new Sportsman division when he passed Brian Norton on the final lap. The 25-car Factory Stock main event kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Paul Duffin passed early leader Ramon Ortiz on lap 10 and cruised to the win. Ken Ahlgren led the entire distance to post the win in the Figure 8 feature event over Danny Leppen.
